The “chai tea” that is popular in this country has its origins in India and is called “masala chai” there, which translates as a tea and spice blend. Traditionally, everyone in India makes their own chai tea – each family has its own recipe, in which various spices are combined into a mixture and boiled with milk and sugar or honey.
